Alderney's long-awaited fisheries meeting will take place on June 24.
The open meeting has been arranged after relations between the island's commercial fishermen and visiting anglers broke down.
For months the General Services Committee (GSC) has been conducting a fisheries review and the meeting is seen as an integral part of the process. The main matters to be discussed include trawlers, chartered angling vessels, protected areas, fishing in bays, trawling for sand eels and the closed season.
GSC members Boyd Kelly and John Beaman will jointly chair the meeting, which will take place in the Island Hall from 6.30pm.
Anyone directly or indirectly involved will be encouraged to speak at the event, while members of the public are also invited to contribute or observe.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
