G-Joey, the recently retired Trislander, looks set to make England his final destination.
Aurigny has ruled out keeping the aircraft at either Alderney or Guernsey airport saying it would quickly corrode outside. It has instead been talking to museums large enough to house it. "A number of aviation museums in England have expressed an interest in taking ownership of G-JOEY for display purposes," said an Aurigny spokesman. "We would want the aircraft to be housed and displayed inside.. We are negotiating with one specific enterprise, but it is too early to release any further details."
The Aurigny spokesman added that the painted cockpit on display at this year's Cavalcade was not actually a dismembered Joey. The aircraft section was actually the front piece of another retired Trislander painted for the event.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
