Ebola warning to Alderney GPs

Posted Mon 20th October 2014 at 12:19

Alderney doctors have been issued with advice on what to do if presented with a patient who may have been exposed to Ebola.

Director of public health Dr Stephen Bridgman issued the advice to GPs in Guernsey and Alderney and has urged health workers to be vigilant.

Although doctors in the Channel Islands "would not anticipate" seeing any patients with Ebola, he said, patients who visited the GP with a fever of over 38C soon after returning from a trip, would need to be questioned regarding their holiday destinations.
