ST ANNE'S School's Christmas production took the form of a gala night of variety performance this year.
Each class in St Anne's infant and primary school put on its own singing, dancing or musical performance, warming the cockles of the hearts of parents who came to watch them.
Reception and year one featured the Three Kings, Roman soldiers and shepherds going on a hunt for a shining star; year two played jingle bells on hand bells and a zylophone, year three (pictured) dressed as Christmas trees to sing a song called I'm the Happiest Christmas Tree and performed a poem called Christmas Lights while years four and five offered an amusing interview with Santa and a sing and dance spectacular called Whole Lotta Shopping Going On. There was something to learn too, as pupils from year six described what Christmas was like in countries from Japan to Italy.
Teacher Gill Costello, who with Heather Craig co-ordinated the production, said it was perfected in just one month.
'The children performed wonderfully,' she said. 'They were fantastically supported by staff and parents and the school hall was bursting at the seams on the night. I think the children really enjoyed themselves too.'
