Motorists are being urged to avoid Braye Road tomorrow (Friday, February 19).
The area outside Stepaside Cottage, midway up the road, will be dug up to allow a section of sewer to be relined by Drainforce. The work is being carried out to reduce the likelihood of flooding in the area.
Traffic lights will be used to control motorists during the works, which will be carried out from 8am to 5pm.
States engineer Julie Turner said: "The road will be passable, but width restrictions may make it difficult for larger vehicles. If vehicles could avoid the road and take an alternative route, it will greatly assist."
Ms Turner also explained what has been going on in Le Val.
"Most drivers will also have noticed road works in Le Val. This is mainly by Alderney Water Board as it makes the individual connections to the new water main. Replacing the old main will improve the quality of water in the area and reduce the risk of leaks and resultant disruption. This work is likely to continue for up to a month."
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
