THE executive director of Alderney Gambling Control Commission is to leave the organisation for a post in Las Vegas at the end of January.
Andre Wilsenach helped found the regulatory organisation and has been with it for 14 years.
He is departing to take up the post of executive director at the new international centre for gaming regulation at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Mr Wilsenach said he was confident he was leaving the AGCC in safe hands.
'The decision to move on has been a difficult one, especially, given my longstanding
relationship with AGCC, Alderney and Guernsey,' he said. 'I am extremely proud of Alderney's standing in the world as a jurisdiction and pleased to leave the AGCC in the hands of a very professional and capable leadership.'
He added: 'The position at the International Center for Gaming Regulation presents an exciting opportunity to apply my knowledge and experience of regulating both the terrestrial and online gaming sectors in promoting regulatory best practices around the world, and where better to do it from than Las Vegas, the capital of the gaming industry.'
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
