Living Islands outline a busy year ahead

Posted Mon 2nd February 2015 at 11:33

Alderney's Living Islands Project

Alderney's unique wildlife and heritage tourism project, Living Islands, has now passed its half-way point, and the business objectives for 2015 have just been approved by the newly constituted management board, chaired by Victor Brownlees, the island government's chief executive. With additional funding from the States of Alderney, the project will now officially end on 31st December this year, but there is a very busy programme of tourism marketing and heritage conservation work before then.

Victor Brownlees emphasized the importance of Living Islands to Alderney's marketing strategy: "We believe that the approach we're taking to heritage conservation and visitor promotion, using our local skills and volunteers, coupled with best practice in"new media"marketing, is the way forward. We've learned a great deal, and looking ahead, we think there's a great future for Living Islands here."
