AEL to undergo independent review

Alderney Electricity is to be scrutinised by an independent consultant.

The proposal was approved at the last

Policy Committee and it was decided that IPA - who conducted a review of the company in 2008 - would be commissioned to carry out the work.

Robert McDowall, the States nominated AEL director, said that following debates at States meetings on AEL, the time was right to conduct a review of the company.

"AEL has often been the subject of intense scrutiny by the people of Alderney, which is understandable, and this follow-up audit will show just how far the company has come in the past five years," he commented.
