A CRUFTS hopeful picked up two trophies at Alderney Week's Companion Dog Show.
Benjy, a 14-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was named the best pedigree dog and leading toy breed at the annual event.
His owner, Sarah Pepper, was shocked her pet did so well at the show, which was held on The Butes.
Miss Pepper, 23, said: 'I didn't expect Benjy to win two trophies so this is a dream come true.
'Benjy is really friendly so I was hoping he'd win the friendliest dog award but didn't hold out much hope for the other competitions.
'However, he performed brilliantly and thoroughly deserved the two trophies and rosettes.'
Miss Pepper, who works for Alderney Post, is now hoping to show Benjy at events in Guernsey and Jersey and says it is her dream to attend Crufts.
She said: 'I've always wanted to show a dog at Crufts and Benjy might just give me that opportunity.
'The judge at the Companion Dog Show said I should consider showing him in Guernsey, so I'm going to look into doing that as soon as we've finished celebrating his first win.'
