The President of the States of Alderney has issued an appeal to residents to stand for election on 22nd November.
Five seats of the 10-strong States of Alderney are up for grabs, and the two Alderney Representative roles to the States of Guernsey will also be put to the vote.
Stuart Trought said the election came at an interesting time for Alderney and that by standing for election people could play a part in shaping the future of their Island.
He made the appeal as outgoing interim chief executive Stephen Taylor praised the exceptionally high level of public engagement in Alderney. Mr Trought said: "We know that we have a lot of very intelligent and articulate people in our community with excellent backgrounds and experience who could be an asset to the States. I would like to encourage them to put themselves forward if they want to play a part in shaping our future in a challenging but rewarding role."
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
