Tugby is new tourism chief

Posted Wed 25th June 2008 at 11:10

Ian Tugby has been elected to be the States member responsible for Alderney tourism.

Members of the Policy and Finance Committee unanimously voted for Mr Tugby on June 23.

Mr Tugby, who takes over from Richard Cox, said: "I am looking forward to my new role as the member responsible for tourism and hope I can bring some new ideas to the table to help boost the industry."

Mr Tugby will hold the position until December 31, when various committees are reshuffled ahead of the new year.

Already a member of the General Services and Building Development Control Committees, Mr Tugby also sits on the Finance and Marine Advisory Groups and Housing Allocation Panel.

Mr Cox resigned from the States on April 30 in order to take a PhD at King's College, London.
