Air Alderney says it is unlikely that they will be able to start their service to Jersey before their route licence expires because of protracted negotiations over ground operations.
In an update Air Alderney said they were still fully committed to commencing flights from Alderney.
In January the States of Alderney granted Air Alderney a route licence to start flying a leased EC-155 helicopter belonging to Heli Holland to Jersey. It is due to expire on July 15th.
A spokeswoman for Air Alderney said: "The above-mentioned helicopter visited Alderney and Guernsey in March which sadly caused some anguish to the relevant authorities who are unaccustomed to accommodating helicopters.
"Furthermore, in order to commence operations, we have been liaising with the relevant authorities to set up the ground operations required at Alderney for our services. To date we are still waiting for these services to be agreed.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on
Tuesday, 23rd February 2024 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
