Consultation reveals frosty reception to Iceland

Posted Mon 22nd June 2015 at 15:10

Residents appear to have expressed a resounding 'no' to changes to liquor licensing laws to accommodate an Iceland store.

The States asked residents whether it should proceed with steps to amend legislation restricting the sale of alcohol to public houses and off licences.

The consultation, which closed on 13th June produced 399 responses with 338 - or 81 per cent - against the proposal and just 61 - 15 per cent - in favour of it.
