Arditti & Kelly top poll

Posted Sat 11th December 2010 at 20:08

Paul Arditti and Boyd Kelly have been elected to serve as Alderney's Guernsey States representatives.

Sitting Guernsey rep Bill Walden finished last in the four-man poll, while Geoffrey Sargent came third.

Mr Arditti, who was only elected to the States a fortnight ago, won the plebiscite convincingly by bagging 454 votes. The tussle for second was tight but Mr Kelly triumphed on 242, compared to Mr Sargent's tally of 215. Mr Walden, who served in Guernsey for six years, polled just 162 votes.

See this week's Journal (out on Friday) for reaction to the poll, including interviews with the successful candidates.
