George can't help seeing double

Posted Mon 8th June 2009 at 14:00

Former President of the States George Baron is getting used to seeing double.

He is already the great grandfather of two sets of twins, which brings the number of recent twins in the Baron family to four.

The latest pair, Finley and Jack Probert, were Christened at St Anne?s Church on Sunday, May 31. They are the sons of Andy and Lindsay Probert and grandsons of Peter and Celia Baron.

Granddad Peter is another a twin, having been born in Alderney with his brother David in 1953. Peter and David, like Finley and Jack, were also Christened at St Anne?s Church.

In February, twin girls Sophie and Rebecca, were welcomed into the Baron family. They are the daughters of Daniel Oliver and Caroline Wicks and the granddaughters of Margaret and Malcolm Wicks.

George Baron, whose uncles George and William were twins, and born in Alderney in 1882, now has eight great grandchildren with more already on the way.

Congratulations to the Barons!
